What to expect

Need advice or just want to talk?

Informing Choices NI:

Sometimes when faced with an unplanned or crisis pregnancy it is difficult to discuss it with family and friends. Informing Choices NI offer non-directive pregnancy choices counselling on all your options.

Non-directive counselling means the counsellor has no opinion about what is best for you, and is there to provide a confidential, non-judgmental and safe place for you to explore feelings around your pregnancy, and the options you feel are open to you. Whether continuing with your pregnancy, or considering abortion or adoption, the counsellor will take you through the practical aspects of each choice and provide helpful information and support. ICNI also offer post pregnancy counselling on pregnancy loss, whether it is through miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion, traumatic birth and postnatal depression or anxiety.

To make an appointment please call 028 9031 6100

Abortion Talk UK:

Abortion stigma comes from many places. From the media, from anti-choice groups and individuals, from medically unnecessary abortion laws, from myths about abortion, from societies' gendered expectations of parenting. Fear of being stigmatised for mentioning abortions can make us feel unable to talk about our experiences when we want to.

Abortion Talk runs the UK’s first and only free, confidential Talkline for anyone who needs a safe space to talk about their abortion experience. We also run workshops for abortion providers, community groups, and advocacy professionals, giving them time to explore the rewards of their work and the challenges of abortion-related stigma.

Our Talkline is open; Monday & Wednesday 7pm - 10pm (UK time). +44 (0) 333 0909266 https://www.abortiontalk.com/talk

Lucht Cabhrach:

(pronounced ‘Luckt cow-rah’) or Abortion Doulas (pronounced ‘Doo-lah’) is a network of people organised through Alliance for Choice. Our Doulas provide support and assistance to any woman or pregnant person who has made the decision to have an abortion. This may be an abortion that has already happened or a future abortion. We are committed to supporting people through all abortion experiences and eliminating barriers to abortion rights, access and justice.

Our aim is to provide confidential, non judgemental support and solidarity to women and pregnant people who need information, emotional support, practical assistance, a listening ear and a safe stigma- free space to discuss their abortion or abortion journey.

We want to send the message that it really is ok to have an abortion, abortion is normal and one in three women or pregnant people will have at least one abortion during their lifetime. What isn’t ok, is stigma.

If you need an Abortion Doula please call 07505096576 or 07894063965 and someone will help you. https://www.luchtcabhrach.com/
