BILLBOARDS FOR ABORTION CARE

DONATE

‘Abortion is Normal’ and ‘All sorts of people have abortions’.
Alliance for Choice need to raise £5000 by 28th August 2021 for our ani-harassment Billboard and sticker campaign. We already have £1370 through Irish supporters via Uplift and now we appeal to our supporters in the UK.

Alliance for Choice want everyone to know it is ok to have an abortion. Our aim is to display Billboards across NI, especially near abortion clinics to show that they are not alone, regardless of what the anti-choice protesters claim.

We have come a long way, and whilst the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has said he will direct commissioning of abortion services, our First Minister Paul Givan has said he will resist. We need to counter the negative and harmful messaging from anti-choice politicians and protest organisations.

Since decriminalisation we have witnessed a sharp increase of anti-choice ‘protesters’ who harass  women and pregnant people who need and use abortion healthcare facilities, as well abuse healthcare staff and other people accessing day-to-day medical care in the same clinics. They use traumatising images and misinformation which can be stigmatising and frightening. This is unacceptable.

Recently our health minister Robin Swann and other MLAs spoke out against anti-vax protesters outside vaccination centres, yet they were silent on the same outside abortion clinics. Many of these protestors are the same people, our aim is to counter all of this negativity with a supportive visible public campaign to remind everyone that Northern Ireland supports the right to choose.

Please donate what you can and share with friends and family!

Abortion stigma and shame should be made history.
