The UK abortion inquiry needs individual responses

abortion inquiry NI.png

How to submit

Here is our guide and form to enable individual and anonymous responses…

The Women and Equalities Committee in Westminster has launched an inquiry into abortion in Northern Ireland. We need as many individuals as possible to submit to this inquiry before 9th December (closes on 10th but we want to make sure it’s in early).

We know how important it is that as many people as possible can tell the Westminster government how their lives have been impacted by the almost total abortion ban in Northern Ireland. To ensure even those who want to remain anonymous can submit we have created a form for individuals with prompts to answer the main questions in the inquiry.

If you have your own personal experience of travelling for abortion or accessing pills, or anything else you think is valuable and want to remain anonymous, please fill in the form below we will submit your story as part of a collection of women and pregnant people’s experiences. If you want some more information before you submit please visit our guide to the inquiry here.

If you're not sure; the UK must Repeal sections 58 & 59 of the Offences Against the Persons Act and cease criminal sanctions for abortions, allowing legal access in Northern Ireland
Stormont has been collapsed for 2 years. Even if that weren't true, the refusal of a devolved assembly to redress human rights abuses means the UK govt. is required to intervene. The UN recently declared that universal rights to life include the right to safe abortion. Obstructing access is a breach of the United Kingdom's obligations to uphold our human rights

Thank you! Your response is so important to making abortion in Northern Ireland become a reality.

THANK YOU!
