This Women's Day we're going to Strike for Choice!

The past year has seen at least four people before the courts for breaking an archaic victorian law that seeks to send those who have had an abortion to jail for life. What choice do you have when you need an abortion but can't afford the flight over, or the procedure - despite paying the same amount of tax to the NHS - but to break the law and take illegal, but safe, pills? The choice is one of become an exile or become a criminal, and we won't stand for it any longer. There has been absolutely no enthusiasm from those up in Stormont for a change in this inhumane law, so we're taking it into our own hands and upping our game.

On the 8th of March we are urging you not to go to work; take annual leave, call in sick, if you own a business give your workers the day off (at no cost to them). If you can't take the day off, which is to be expected in the current climate of precarious work, then consider walking out at 12 to join us for a lunchtime demonstration at City Hall. We are calling on those participating, whether physically or virtually, to wear black in support and solidarity with us.

This action is in solidarity with all who have had to take the day off work to have an illegal abortion in their home, or who have had to fly elsewhere for a procedure they should be able to get at hoome. It is in solidarity with those that the state refuses to care for.

Join us as we show whoever is in power by then that we will not be treated as second class citizens no longer. Join us to Strike4Choice!
