Rally for Choice, Belfast

Here's the details from the organisers; our sisters in Rally for Choice
"Belfast's second Rally for Choice will take place on Saturday the 14th of October assembling at Buoy Park at 2pm before taking off for a march through the city centre to demand abortion rights.

With much of the political spotlight being cast on Northern Ireland due to the DUP-Tory deal it is now more important than ever before that we stand up and take what we continue to be denied.

While we welcome the introduction of free abortions to those who have to travel it's not good enough and we won't stop campaigning until we have free, safe and legal abortions on the island of Ireland. Those who cannot travel or those who choose to abort in the comfort of their own homes through the use of pills will continue to be made criminals of by the current law and if caught could face life imprisonment. This cannot continue and we have the power to see to it that it ends here.

This rally will take place two weeks after the 6th Annual March for Choice in Dublin and we call for a mass mobilisation of northern solidarity to take place there and for similar support to take place here.

No longer will we tolerate this treatment from Stormont. Be it women, queers, Gaeilgeoirí, or those who cannot afford to heat their homes while sheds in Fermanagh burn as part of crooked heating schemes, we have had enough and we are demanding more. Let's unite and send a message to Stormont that we have had enough.

When it's your body, it's your right to decide.
